Aquashow Indoor Waterpark
The newest of all the Algarves theme parks comes straight in at number two on our list.
The great thing about this place is it is open through the winter. As it is newly opened the official opening dates are not yet available.
Ok, so this is part of Aquashow Park but all indoors. With its great new feel, it’s very clean and well laid out.
The place is compact so you can quite easily keep an eye on the kids without having to run after them.
With relaxing pools for the grown-ups, including an adults-only spa, there is plenty of room for some alone time.
There is a younger kid’s indoor soft play area which has a separate entrance and only costs around 10 euros per hour.
For the older kids, there are 4 great slides and a fun pool to keep them busy. With two cafes for snacks and lunch to keep you all fed.
Although a little on the expensive side, all in all, the Indoor Aquashow Park it’s a really great place to keep the family and kids entertained in the winter months.
Krazy World Animal & Pool Park
Off the beaten track in Algoz this unique place is half park half zoo but worth the trek out for a day’s visit.
The entrance fee is reasonable compared to the other parks and once you are in you are rewarded with some interesting shows and animals to see.
With two eighteen-hole crazy golf courses that are good fun and a restaurant/bar to feed the hungry ones.
Horse or donkey rides and a walk through a zoo park where kids can experience feeding the animals first-hand.
A huge swimming pool is the centre attraction of Krazyworld when the weather is hot, having a couple of slides gives the younger ones a splashing good time!
ZooMarine Seaworld Shows & Rides
The best sea life-themed park in the Algarve without a doubt. A great day out for Algarve residents and tourists alike.
Providing free transport from various locations in the Algarve, check the Zoomarine website for more details.
Once in the park, you can enjoy a brilliant dolphin show and a hilarious sea lion show. Both are run twice daily so you are always guaranteed to catch one.
With events from both parrots and birds of prey to watch and lots of interesting animals to see in natural surroundings.
There are also several park rides to keep all ages happy, including a rapid ride through the dinosaur park. Zoomarine Seaworld Park really does have everything to keep the whole family entertained.
When the rides and shows get too much and you need some relaxing time there are a couple of restaurants and a huge pool with a man-made beach to boot.
Lagos Zoo Wildlife Experience
A bit out of the way, past Lagos in between Bensafrim and Barro de Sao Joao, but still a great place to visit with the kids.
Stroll through the zoo to see exotic birds and animals in their natural, although man-made, habitat.
Check the feeding times which can be spectacular, especially on the monkey islands but be warned it can get noisy!
Relaxed by the pool where the kids can swim whilst peering through the glass at the penguins swimming in the adjacent pool. Grab a bite to eat at one of the two cafes on site.
Although there are no rides Lagos Zoo is an interesting learning curve for children, who will hopefully begin to understand the value and beauty of the wildlife on show.
Karting Almancil Thrills & Adrenaline
If you want to pump some real adrenaline through your veins try the Karting Almancil. Which offers some proper kart racing.
There are 4 different tracks to suit all ages the main one being a replica of the Brazilian Formula 1 circuit de Jacarepaguá. The karts are pretty fast so it makes for some serious thrills.
Apart from the karting, there is a nice cafe bar serving food at very reasonable prices. Entry to the park is free, you only pay for what you use.
With trampoline bungee jumping, a boating ride for the kids and the Go Buggy experience. Take a buggy off-roading through the wild terrain, part of which forms the World Rally Circuit.
Karting Almancil caters for parties which is great fun, starting with the fastest lap to decide pole position then a true racing experience around the fantastic track.
