Introduction
Our world is constantly changing, and time goes by fast.
We tend to enjoy the life we want to enjoy the moments, and if we have a pet, we want to give them the best life possible because we all know that they will not, unfortunately, live as long as we will.
We want to give them the best life possible because we know they will depart one day. The problem is, when we leave first, what will happen to them?
They might spend their lives on the streets looking for food if they can find it. Maybe they can end up in a municipal kennel with other animals in overcrowded boxes for the rest of their lives behind bars, but what if you could change that?
If your dog or cat is part of your family, it would be best to be sure that somebody trustworthy can care for your animal.
Jenny Clark, President of APAA, an animal Association has been on the Algarve for almost 30 years, along with colleague Anita, ladies of a certain age with an array of animals, have spoken for a long time about the Home for Life schemes that are available in the UK but not here on the Algarve.
After bumping into Joel Ferreira at Blip last October, they spoke of this, and he informed them that he and ARA’s founder Sid Richardson had also spoken of the same thing. He set up a meeting for Anita and Jenny to go and talk with Sid and himself about a legacy plan.
Several months later, the Pet Legacy Plan is now fully operational, and Anita and Jenny, after having a grand tour of the facilities, have been the first two people to sign up.
“We are sure that anybody viewing their facilities cannot fail to be impressed they have 14 Parks, a dog swimming pool, and sand pits. The ratio of staff to animals is impressive, it is the best rescue centre we have seen, and it probably is better than most pet hotels. We now know that our animals will be well cared for when Anita and I depart.” Jenny & Anita
ARA is probably the best animal shelter in Portugal, with a live-in ratio of staff and volunteers and a restricted number of animals. They want to guarantee the best life for all the animals in their care, so the facilities include 14 Park areas with pools and sand pits and all the dogs are walked twice a day. They also have excellent facilities for cats.
The Legacy Pet Plan doesn’t have a standard cost but an appeal from the charity, and they hope you will include this in your will so that we can continue our excellent work for animals.
“Thank you for trusting us and allowing us to help your pet find a new family and life when you are no longer here for them. We will make sure that they will have everything they need under our care, and we will indeed find someone to make them happy we invite you to look at some of the videos on our website or, even better, come and visit us all we wish is to give them the best animal welfare, you could expect.” ARA
